SFIA Reissues ICC ESR-4205 (2025) for C-Studs and Track, Complies with 2021 IBC, 2019 CBC, More

The 2025 ICC-ES Evaluation Report ESR-4205, compliant with 2021, 2018 and 2015 IBCs, the 2019 California Building Code and the 2020 Florida Building Code, is the most current ESR for standard CFS framing products.

The Steel Framing Industry Association (SFIA) announced that the ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES), a subsidiary of the International Code Council, has reissued ICC-ES Evaluation Report, ESR-4205 for cold-formed steel (CFS) framing C-studs and track products. The updated issue date is January 2025.

The updated ESR is available for download for free from the Steel Framing Industry Association (SFIA) website using this link: ICC ESR-4205 (January 2025).

ICC-ESR 4205 is compliant with the 2021, 2018 and 2015 International Building Codes, the 2019 California Building Code and the 2020 Florida Building Code — Building. This makes ICC ESR-4205 the most current ESR for standard CFS framing products.

The ICC ESR-4205 lists SFIA members CEMCO, Consolidated Fabricators, Frametek, Jaimes Industries, Mill Steel Framing, MRI Steel Framing, R&P Supply, State Building Products and Steeler Inc.

This year, the ICC-ES changed the report layout. The enhanced evaluation report improves the product review process for users. The  enhanced report complements the new design for the 2024 I-Codes, which is a single-column format. Nevertheless, all the same comprehensive technical content and important product evaluation information, including diagrams, data and code references, remain the same.
