AD Sales Increase 30% to Record $58.5 Billion in 2021

Wholesale buying group AD reported member sales of $58.5 billion for 2021, a 30% increase across its 13 divisions and three countries.

AD, the largest contractor and industrial products wholesale buying group in North America based in Wayne, Pa., and an SFIA member, reported member sales of $58.5 billion for 2021, a 30% increase from 2020.

In addition, AD reported the following figures:

  • Purchases by member companies from AD supplier partners were up 39% to $16.6 billion
  • Net distributions to its members were up 49%, surpassing the $1 Billion milestone for the first time in the group’s 40-year history

In 2021, 83 independents joined the group, of which 62 came from other groups, bringing AD’s total member count to 845 across 13 Divisions and 3 countries. AD’s members also made 73 acquisitions during 2021.

By country, same-store sales of AD members:

  • Increased 18% in the U.S.
  • Increased 27% in Canada
  • Increased 31% in Mexico
