The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) has published AISI S220-15,North American Standard for Cold-Formed Steel Framing―Nonstructural Members, 2015 Edition, to address requirements for building construction with nonstructural members made from cold-formed steel. This standard is intended for adoption and use in the United States, Canada and Mexico. AISI S220-15 is available for free download.
The standard provides an integrated treatment of Allowable Strength Design (ASD), Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD), and Limit States Design (LSD) by including the appropriate resistance factors for use with LRFD and LSD, and the appropriate factors of safety for use with ASD. This edition updates the 2011 edition of AISI S220.
