As the United States faces a growing housing shortage, one Steel Framing Industry Association (SFIA) member is showing how steel-framing technology can make a difference. On Tuesday, October 21, Scottsdale Construction Systems held ribbon cutting for Eagles Landing, a barndonimum built for veterans live at METALCON 2025, October 21–23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Barndominium Features Cold-Formed Steel

Eagles Landing is a 2,500-square-foot, cold-formed steel (CFS)-framed barndominium built for veterans. It features advanced in cold-formed steel (CFS) roll-forming technology for optimizing panel production and construction efficiency. Here’s the ribbon cutting held recently at METALCON 2025.

Built for a Purpose

Scottsdale is partnering on the project with the Military Warriors Support Foundation, a nonprofit that supports combat-wounded veterans and Gold Star families through payment-free homes and vehicles, as well as life skills training, financial education, and leadership development.

After METALCON 2025, Scottsdale and its partners will ship and reassemble the structure in Hall, Montana. There, it will serve as a rural retreat for combat-wounded veterans.

A Model for Future Housing

As housing demand continues to outpace supply, especially in rural and veteran communities, Scottsdale  aims to show how cold-formed steel can deliver strength, speed and sustainability — all while supporting a greater cause. Scottsdale’s Scotpanel and Scottruss roll-forming systems powered the steel roll-forming processes on this project.
