What Metal Framing Education Do You Need? Take Our Brief Survey

Are you interested in more cold-formed steel (CFS) engineering courses? Or would you like to see more basic “CFS 101” type webinars? Tell us what you think.

Topics

The Steel Framing Industry Association (SFIA) and the Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute (CFSEI) are surveying the metal framing industry to develop webinar courses for the Steel Framing Learning Portal’s 2023-2024 educational program.

The SFIA Learning Portal provides technical courses, many AIA approved, considered essential to cold-formed steel (CFS) framing success. Past webinars (available on-demand) include:

  • Cold-formed steel and mid-rise construction
  • Sustainability of cold-formed steel — LEED v.4
  • Thermal Bridges: Small details with a large impact on CFS

Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute

The Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute comprises hundreds of structural engineers and other design professionals who are finding a better way to produce safe and efficient designs for commercial and residential structures with cold-formed steel.

CFSEI members work together to develop and evolve industry standards and design methods, produce and issue technical bulletins, and provide seminars and online training to improve the knowledge and skills base of engineers and design professionals. For more information, visit cfsei.org.

On May 1, 2023, CFSEI moved from the American Iron and Steel Institute to its new home with the Steel Framing Industry Association (SFIA), where the CFSEI’s leadership and goals will continue to be supported in its role as the industry’s key touchpoint for CFS design.
