CFSEI Announces Winners of 2026 Expo Stipend Program

The Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute (CFSEI) announced the winners of its 2026 Expo Stipend, supporting young engineers and university instructors attending the 2026 CFSEI Expo.

The Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute (CFSEI) recently announced the winners of the 2026 CFSEI Expo Stipend. The winners are from the United States and Canada.

The program supports young engineers and university instructors in civil and structural engineering. Winners receive $1,200 to help cover travel and lodging expenses associated with attending the Expo. Registration to the 2026 CFSEI Expo also fully covered.

This year’s program attracted more than 35 applicants from across North America, South America, Europe and Africa.

‘Competitive Group of Candidates’

“CFSEI developed this program to inspire young engineers to explore careers in the cold-formed steel industry,” said Jeffrey Klaiman, P.E., CFSEI managing director. “As the program grows, we are actively seeking ways to broaden its reach and give more emerging professionals the chance to connect with industry experts at the Expo and ultimately become part of our industry.”

Josh Garton, P.E., S.E., Technical Manager at McClure, and Chair of CFSEI Stipend Program Task Group, said, “This year’s program drew a diverse and highly competitive group of candidates, with applications nearly tripling from previous years—underscoring its growing global reach.”

Winners will have the opportunity to network with CFSEI Executive Committee members, attend the Young Member Group mixer on Monday, May 18, and enjoy a breakfast hosted in their honor at the Expo on Tuesday, May 19.

Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute

The Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute (CFSEI) comprises hundreds of structural engineers and other design professionals. Together, they are finding a better way to produce safe and efficient cold-formed steel (CFS) designs for commercial and residential structures. CFSEI members develop industry standards and design methods. CFSEI issues technical bulletins, organizes seminars and provides online training so that engineers and design professionals can improve their knowledge and skills.
