CEMCO, a premier manufacturer of cold-formed steel (CFS) framing and metal-lath products and an SFIA member, announced that David Mistler, CEMCO firestop product manager, is assuming the responsibilities of manager of research and development, effective immediately. Mistler is replacing Don Pilz, who has accepted a new opportunity within the industry.

Mistler joined CEMCO in 2023 as firestop product manager. In this role, Mistler collaborated closely with Pilz to expand CEMCO’s firestop product offerings, as well as to support the testing, marketing and sales of the product line.
Mistler has an extensive background in firestopping, in both manufacturing and contracting. He has experience also with product testing, marketing and sales. Mistler brings valuable expertise to his new role and is readily available to support the company’s continued growth and success.

Pilz is now technical director at the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry. Though CEMCO will miss having Pilz as part of the team, the company looks forward to collaborating with him in his new role at AWCI, the news release said.
