BuildSteel.org, powered by the Steel Framing Industry Association (SFIA), Falls Church, Virginia, has launched searchable directory giving users the ability to find quickly all things cold-formed steel (CFS) related.

The BuildSteel Product and Provider Directory

The cold-formed steel directory features CFS framing manufacturers, steel coil providers, and framing contractors. It also includes panel and truss fabricators, product distributors, steel mills, design professionals and more.

Companies Offering CFS-Related Products and Services

“There’s no other place you can find such a comprehensive list of companies offering products and services for CFS projects,” says Don Allen, SFIA executive director. “Users can easily find stud manufacturers, panel providers, engineers, framing contractors and more.”

Users can sort their searches. Search by fasteners, installation, manufacturing, panels and assemblies, specification, studs, supply, tools and tracks. Search for products and providers by location (U.S. state, Canadian province and Mexico), by CFS certifications and by keyword.

The BuildSteel directory features only SFIA member companies. They account for the majority of CFS stud, track and accessory products used in North America.

The Ultimate Steel Framing Resource

The directory also helps connect architects, engineers, builders and developers with companies experienced in cold-formed steel construction. As CFS use continues to expand in commercial, institutional and multifamily projects, access to qualified providers becomes increasingly important.

BuildSteel’s editors designed the directory to support both product research and project planning. Users can identify companies based on geographic region and technical specialization. The searchable format also makes it easier for project teams to locate SFIA member companies involved in framing, engineering, fabrication and related services.

SFIA plans to continue expanding directory categories and company listings as industry participation grows.
