The Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute’s 2026 CFSEI Expo organizers are soliciting abstracts for presentation at the conference, which will be held May 18-20, 2026, at the Westin Long Beach, in Long Beach, California. In addition to the Expo, presenters may request to participate in CFSEI’s Emerging Technologies Forum or be considered for a future webinar presentation.

The CFSEI Expo provides a platform for networking with industry experts and exchanging knowledge on cold-formed steel framing (CFS) design and engineering.
Submit by October 1, 2025
To be considered, submit your abstract and include the following details:
- Name and affiliation.
- Contact information.
- A 500-word (max) technical description of your topic.
- Four to five learning objectives for the presentation.
- Brief Bio and photo.

- Nov. 1: Notification of abstract acceptance
- Apr. 1: Final presentation due
- May 1: Presentation review for AIA Compliance by CFSEI Executive Committee.
Why Present at CFSEI Expo?
The CFSEI Expo provides a valuable platform for networking with industry experts and exchanging knowledge on cold-formed steel framing (CFS) design and engineering. Expo speakers share knowledge and have an opportunity to influence and transform the future of the CFS industry.
The 2026 CFSEI Expo presented by the Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute (CFSEI) is designed for architects, builders/contractors and engineers, with an educational program geared toward both skilled CFS framing professionals as well as newcomers.
The CFSEI Expo will also provide opportunities for networking as well as an exposition featuring state-of-the-art innovations, new technologies and best practices for CFS framing. This Expo is the only one of its kind dedicated to the CFS framing industry and will offer over 10 continuing education credits.
CFSEI Emerging Technologies Forum
The 2026 CFSEI Expo includes the Emerging Technologies Forum. The event will cover product innovations and cutting-edge research in 25-minute sessions. CFSEI is looking for speakers to present topics such as:

Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute
The Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute (CFSEI) comprises hundreds of structural engineers and other design professionals who are finding a better way to produce safe and efficient designs for commercial and residential structures with cold-formed steel.
CFSEI members work together to develop and evolve industry standards and design methods, produce and issue technical bulletins, and provide seminars and online training to improve the knowledge and skills base of engineers and design professionals.
