Scottsdale Construction Systems, an SFIA member, announced that Mahsa Mahdavian has joined the company’s global revenue group as technical marketing manager.
A graduate of University of North Texas with degrees in construction engineering and construction management, Mahdavian is a well-known industry name, having served as a chair of marketing and editorial committees at Steel Deck Institute. She also actively participated in committees associated with the American Iron and Steel Institute and Structural Engineers Association of California.
“My introduction into the CFS world started from grad school when I studied CFS shear walls with corrugated steel deck sheathing,” said Mahdavian. “I’ve been exposed to CFS framing members through my grad studies and my decade long career in steel deck.”
Mahdavian’s academic work at the University of North Texas focused on investigation of seismic lateral force resisting systems, entailing both physical testing and finite element modeling, leading to the development of innovative optimized shear walls for CFS construction. Details of her research can be found in her thesis, Innovative Cold-Formed Steel Shear Walls with Corrugated Steel Sheathing.
Mahdavian professional career led her to Nucor’s Vulcraft/Verco Division where she worked on new product and market development. More recently, she was a part of ASC Steel Deck.
Known for her hard work and leadership qualities, she leads or support a number of impactful CFS industry initiatives.

Mahsa fits that logic perfectly, and we are thrilled to have her on our team.”
