ArcelorMittal — ArcelorMittal Dofasco is a member of the Steel Framing Industry Association (SFIA) — has launched a new content series, Steel Works, that explores the latest steel industry trends, challenges and opportunities that will shape both the company’s future and that of the steel industry.
Steel Works includes the Steel Thoughts opinion column and Steel Talks podcast. The series offers analysis and insight on steel-related topics, including:
- Envisioning the world in 2050 and steel’s role in shaping it
- Steel’s contribution to climate transition
- Challenges and opportunities associated with decarbonizing steel
- Innovation and cutting-edge steel research and development
- Attracting, retaining and developing a diverse and inclusive workforce
‘Steel Thoughts’ Mini-Series
The latest feature on Steel Works’ new column Steel Thoughts is a three-part mini-series that explores steel’s role in the company’s transition to net zero. The mini-series includes:
- Oliver Vassart, chief executive of Steligence, on how steel can significantly reduce the carbon footprint of buildings
- Laurent Plasman, chief marketing officer for the European flat products business, on steel’s intensive nature associated with the renewable energy revolution
- Brad Davey, executive vice-president responsible for our global automotive franchise, on steel solutions related to electric vehicles
Steel Thoughts soft launched with the article, Piecing Together Steel’s Decarbonization Puzzle, written by Pinakin Chaubal, chief technology officer at ArcelorMittal.
‘Steel Talks’ Podcast
Tom Cheesewright, an applied futurist, broadcaster, keynote speaker and author of “Future-Proof Your Business,” hosts the new podcast Steel Talks. Leveraging his expertise in technology, finance, cities, business and culture, Cheesewright will delve into how organizations innovate to adapt to a constantly evolving world.
Cheesewright previously hosted two seasons of Futurising, ArcelorMittal’s previous podcast series featuring experts deeply involved in the future of steel and its use in building projects.
