The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio renovation project presented layout space restrictions, trade overlap, tight schedule requirements, and close proximity to occupied spaces.
Radius Track created the 3D framing design and CNC fabricated the cold-formed steel (CFS) framing to infill the red iron steel structure of the chapel. To maintain the precise geometry of the design intent, they provided off-set distances from the red iron steel. These two fine tuning details, off-sets plus pre-curved framing, provided an accurate fastening surface for the drywall sheathing. The precise framing accuracy ensured flush consistent drywall joints, which were critical given the Level 5 Acoustic Finish that was specified – the smoothest of smooth wall finishes.
